Have you ever been to a business when nature called? Most people have… Now, have you ever had to use a business restroom that was a total mess? If you have, we bet you remember it quite well–it can be almost traumatizing if the restroom is bad enough! Maybe the air freshener didn’t work (or maybe there was no air freshener), maybe there was no toilet paper, or no paper towels/hand drier. Maybe they walked into a stall and found the toilet hadn’t been flushed (which is never pleasant). Or, even worse, maybe there was no soap to wash your hands with! That’s always unpleasant because it makes you wonder: what has everyone else been using to wash their hands? It can be a bit unsettling. Maybe the floors haven’t been mopped in a while and it’s starting to show… the list goes on and on. If you’ve experienced a combination of symptoms like that at a business restroom, there’s a chance it negatively affected your view of that business.
And you aren’t alone–many people form at least part of their opinion of a company on their restroom experience. You wouldn’t want to subject your clients and patrons to a dirty bathroom; if you do, they might never come back–which can cost you business. The tricky part is: that the people who use your restrooms don’t care how busy you’ve been. So no excuse can help you in that situation.
Instead, you can treat yourself and your business to some utilities that can help reduce the risk of these issues; combine them with routine inspections and you can be sure your bathroom is something to be proud of, not something that will scare your clients off!
Air Fresheners
Nobody wants to walk into a restroom that smells less-than-fresh. By investing in some automatic air fresheners or gels, you can be sure that your restroom smells fresh all day. Just be sure to keep an eye on the scent levels so you can refill them or replace them when the time comes.
Auto Flush® Units for Toilets and Urinals
Be sure that no one leaves behind an unflushed toilet when they exit your restroom with an auto-flushing system. It’s impractical to have an employee go into the restroom every time someone comes out to ensure that the toilet was flushed–automation is the way to go, and everyone wins! Your patron doesn’t have to touch the toilet and your staff doesn’t have to babysit the restrooms to ensure the toilets are flushed after every use.
Automatic Touch-Free Soap Dispensers
Some people don’t wash their hands (or use hand soap) because they don’t want to touch the soap dispensers that countless others have touched–even if they have just been cleaned. Do them and everyone else a favor and install automatic, touch-free soap dispensers so that they are more likely to utilize them, and help prevent the spread of germs and pathogens.
Touch-Free Paper Towel Dispensers
Another nice feature that many will appreciate is automatic, touch-free paper towel dispensers. Eliminating the need to touch the dispensers is good for reducing the likelihood of spreading germs, and it gives many of your patrons a bit of peace of mind.
None of these solutions are perfect, of course. You still have to keep an eye on them to be sure they are functional and stocked enough to be of use. But having them in your business restrooms can make a great impression on your visitors, and will reduce the time and effort needed to keep your restrooms clean and maintained. If you have a business in the Central Texas area that could benefit from any of these items, give Business Hygiene a call to discuss your needs. We’ll be sure you’re well taken care of!
